Disney's Pop Century Resort

Travel back in time to enjoy bright, bold, larger-than-life icons from the 1950s to the 1990s. From yo-yos to the Sony Walkman®, from Play-Doh® to the Rubik's Cube®, experience a Resort that celebrates the fashions, catch phrases, toys and dances that captivated the world through the decades.

Inspired by pop culture icons, each section of Disney's Pop Century Resort is based on a different decade from the 1950s to the 1990s. The lobby area is a real treat, with a timeline stretching the length of the main building, covered in memorabilia collected by Imagineers

At the 1970's Building the Big Wheel and Foozeball are just a few of the Pop Culture items you'll see at Disney's Pop Century Resort Hotel

Services And Amenities

There are many icons from Pop Culture through out Disney's Pop Century Resort

Each of Disney's Pop Century Resort building is three stories and the rooms all open to the exterior hallways. The buildings have exterior and interior theming to match their names - four-story Rubik's Cubes and Duncan Yo-Yo's, 65-foot-tall bowling pins and 55-foot cellular phones, to name a few. Individual lodge buildings pay tribute to popular culture from each decade and add to the fun of this Walt Disney World® Resort

Disney's Pop Century Resort is comprised of five areas, each themed around a particular decade with the theming tied into the fads of that time.

  • The 1950s area features giant sock-hoppers dancing on the sides of the buildings, and a 40-foot-tall tabletop jukebox. You'll also find giant versions of Lady and the Tramp from the Disney movie of the same name (which was released in 1955).
  • The 1960s features psychedelic colors, giant Play-Doh creations and massive Duncan Imperial yo-yos. Towering versions of Baloo and Mowgli (from the 1967 film The Jungle Book) can also be found here.
  • The 1970s boasts a giant Big Wheel, foozball soccer players and giant eight track tapes (remember those?).
  • The 1980s features massive Rubik's Cubes on each building (in various stages of solving), and a giant Sony Walkman (complete with headphones).
  • The 1990s pays tribute to two current fads; the cellular telephone and the laptop computer.
